Nowadays, there are very few that are not in favor of sustainability. At Grato, taking care of and respecting the environment has become a fundamental principle in our line of work.
As we advance as a large company, we focus on developing sustainable growth.
But I'm sure you're wondering, how do we manage to be sustainable in the production of products that use a wide, selective range of woods?
To explain, the starting point is in the forests. These are large carbon sinks, thanks to their storage capacity, which allows for optimal regulation of the planet.
The trees in the forests absorb about 40% of the carbon dioxide that humans emit, acting as a sustainable regulator for life that helps reduce climate change.
Therefore, the impact of the actions we take is environmentally positive. We follow the "zero waste" model; meaning, 100% of the plant material is used in the generation of renewable energy.
Thus, all operations greatly benefit the economic revitalization of rural areas, counteracting carbon dioxide emissions and the transportation of wood, as we mentioned earlier, forests act as CO2 sinks and help mitigate the risk of fires.
The result is a cleaner, more organized forest that acts as a firebreak and enables access for conservation and firefighting services.
At Grato, we will continue to uphold our responsibility to the environment, directing each of our operations to ensure that 100% of the plant material from forests is utilized.
